My story

I am a textile designer and maker based on the Isle of Wight, creating hand-printed lampshades inspired by the island’s coastline.

After graduating with a degree in Fashion and Textiles, I worked on a variety of freelance projects before spending ten years teaching Fashion and Textiles at a sixth form college in Hampshire. Teaching reignited my passion for surface pattern design and traditional printmaking, particularly screen printing, which I had first developed during my degree.

When my family moved permanently to Bembridge in 2018, I was inspired to create a business that reflected the landscape surrounding me. The beaches, harbour and coastal flora became the starting point for my designs, particularly the graceful shapes and movement of seaweed gathered from local shores.

Working from my studio overlooking Bembridge Harbour, I hand print my designs onto Irish linen using screen printing, block printing and stencil techniques.  Many of my lampshades feature non-repeating designs that wrap around the shade, creating a unique three-dimensional effect that has become a signature of my work. 

My aim is to create elegant coastal interiors rather than traditional seaside decor - pieces that bring colour, texture and a sense of relaxed coastal living into the home.  Alongside my collection, I also offer a bespoke service, helping customers to choose the perfect shape, size and design for their space.

Every lampshade is designed in my Isle of Wight studio, inspired by the coastline I am fortunate to call home.
